The derived values in this data item link Site-Specific Data Items with the appropriate site/histology grouping and account for the combination of primary site and histologies that are being collected for Pediatric Cancers starting in 2024. The values for this data item are derived based on primary site and histology and are initially based on the Toronto Childhood Cancer Stage Guidelines. The derived values link Site-Specific Data Items with the appropriate site/histology grouping.  * _For example_, the Pediatric ID for a Neuroblastoma is 4a. This value links the Staging and Site-Specific Data Items associated with Neuroblastoma: 1185: Intl Neuroblastoma Risk Grp Stag Sys (INRGSS), 1186: n-MYC Amplification, and 1187: Intl Neuroblastoma Path Prog Class (INPC)

The purpose of the Pediatric ID is to link the appropriate Site-Specific Data Items and Pediatric Stage Data Items (Pediatric Primary Tumor, Pediatric Regional Nodes, Pediatric Mets) with the patient’s primary site/histology. Each Site-Specific Data Item (SSDI) and definitions for the Pediatric Stage Data Items apply only to selected primary sites, histologies, and years of diagnosis.
