EOD Primary Tumor

Notes

**Note 1:** Code 000 (behavior code 2) includes cancer cells confined within the glandular basement membrane (intraepithelial) or described as in situ or high-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (HAMN) **Note 2:** Code 050 (behavior code 2) for low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (LAMN) that are confined by the muscularis propria **Note 3:** Code 070 (behavior code 3) includes the following: * Intramucosal, NOS * Lamina propria * Mucosa, NOS * Confined to, but not through the muscularis mucosa **Note 4:** Ignore intraluminal extension to adjacent segment(s) of colon/rectum or to the ileum from the cecum; code depth of invasion or extracolonic spread as indicated. **Note 5:** Mucinous tumors are identified by morphology codes 8480, 8481, and 8490. **Note 6:** Use code 700 for macroscopic adhesions if no pathological confirmation, and for microscopic confirmed tumor in adhesions. However, if no tumor is present in adhesion(s) upon microscopic examination, the classification is based upon extent of tumor invasion into or through the wall (see codes 100-600. **Note 7:** Codes 700 and 750 are used for contiguous extension from the site of origin. Except for intraperitoneal metastases limited to the right lower quadrant (RLQ) of the abdomen for mucinous tumors (see code 600), discontinuous involvement is coded in EOD Mets.
